From episode five of LittleBigPlanet, the video opens up with the Runaway Guys
As you may be able to tell, disaster has struck. My beloved Bamboo Create tablet has mysteriously ceased to work whatsoever! So, since I'll probably be without one for the next few weeks, it leaves me no other option but to go back to the basics with a pen and paper, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It feels pretty good to work with a pencil again, but I forgot how painstakingly slow the process is! Welp. What can you do?
Question of the Week: Since I can't think of an interesting one pertaining to the picture, I'll give you a more personal one instead. How did you get into watching Let's Plays and who was the first LPer you watched and why?
Happy Sunday, everybody!
Well to be honest I used to hate commentary in a video game. I just found it stupid. After playing a good marathon worth of super smash brothers brawl and I was very interested in the character of Ness and Lucas. So I searched up on YouTube for a walk through of Earthbound. The first result that came up was Chuggaaconroy's first
let's play of Earthbound. I tried to ignore it and look up some other videos. After a giving up I eventually watched the first episode. Surprisingly, he was pretty funny and I seriously haven't laughed so hard in years. I actually called my sister to come and watch this let's play. It became a daily routine for the two of us to grab some popcorn and other junk food as we watch Chuggaaconroy's let's plays (all the way up to Okami, then we started watching his other videos separately now). I guess after that, I did enjoy let's plays after all.
I know I'm a bit late with this comment, but I'm going to answer the question anyways.
So here's how I got into LPers and video game related channels on Youtube in general. One day I was just browsing around and came across PeanutButterGamer. Watched some of his videos and decided to subscribe. It was around the time he posted his MySims Agents video, so I would say this was a little over a year ago. So then I found out about JonTron and ContinueShow. Time had passed and I found out about Pewdiepie. I started watching his Happy Wheels videos and a little after that my friend got me to watch more of his videos. I subscribed a little bit before he started his Bully Let's Play, so I would say that was about October or November of 2012. Through Pewdie I found out about Cry and TobyGames. Some time after that JonTron announced the GameGrumps channel and stuff, but it would be a little while after that 'til I actually watched their stuff though. So then not too long ago, I came across a video with all of Chuggaaconroy's legendary pokemon freakouts. So I checked out what he had played and saw that he had played Pokemon Colosseum. I decided to watch that playthrough first because I remembered that I liked the game when I was younger, so I was interested, and also surprised that someone had actually done a let's play of it. So through his channel, I found out about TheRunawayGuys. After watching them play Mario Party, I went to check out ProtonJon and NintendoCapriSun's channels. So I watched Jon play Don't Eat the Mushroom, a couple episodes of Superman 64, and some Mario ROM hacks, along with both of the Mario Early Years videos. And I am currently watching NCS play Conker's Bad Fur Day (
ya know, IN THE BATHROOM ). So yeah, this comment was probably much longer than it needed to be, but here's the whole backstory and everything. Sorry about this being such a long, drawn out comment though...
My very first video that I watched from Chugga was Super Mario Sunshine then I got into Jon because of the ROM hacks and lastly Time due to Zelda. And I'm glad that I got to know them. I just hope that I can meet them in person one day <3 <3 <3 I would cry from happiness if that happens <3
ProtonJonSA was actually my first LP'er, and he (along with Chugga and NCS) got me into watching LP's (and Chugga inspired me to start trying to make my own eventually here, if I can find some good [cheap/free] equipment for it...). Short version of the story - I was watching Furious Mario videos one day a long time ago. One of the related videos was ProtonJon's Kaizo Special Stage 2. I watched more of ProtonJon's ROM-Hack stuff from there, but when I ran out of videos to watch (because of upload schedule hiatus nonsense), I got bored. I then decided that, because I really liked ProtonJon and wanted to see more of him, I would just watch some RunawayGuys videos and only focus on Jon. I failed at that task, because Emile and Tim were both amazing as well. Thus, I found all of the LP community.
my sister introduce me to ijustine in 2011, then i found tobygames videos, then i found themediacows's ACR walkthrough, then i found gloverrandall's (volvagia) lp of LoZ SS , then i found chuggaaconroy's lp of LoZ WW, then i found nintendocaprisun's LoZ SS, then i found the runawayguys. a few months later i joined the group.
I LOVE TO SHARE
If cloud8745 doesn't count, then my first lper was chuggaa
And after watching many of the LP's he did, I stuck with them. Then I noticed I was a nerd for watching them and stopped.
Six years later, here I am, on YouTube watching Chuggaaconroy again.
He was my first LPer to ever watch. And I don't regret it.
Also, I love the way you draw Lucah; she's very cute. =3
And the first LPer I watched was Azureblade49, then Chugga, then therunawayguys and that lead me to jon, ncs, lucah, josh and all hose other guys..
I didn't like LP's before then, but Chugga was so funny that I had to keep watching them
*flails around frantically*
And azureblade and icrangirl because my sis recommended them, but I stopped really quickly.
I was clicking around on tv tropes and stumbled across ProtonJon (somehow from Stephen Fry...). I wasn't going to watch anything but a few days later, I had nothing to do and then I found myself really enjoying his videos. Out of curiosity I clicked onto my first RunawayGuys video (one of the last NSMB Wii episodes) and of all things to be greeting with, it was Tim burping. Let's say it took me awhile to sum up the courage and go back to TheRunawayGuys but since then, I've had a good laugh out of them!
